Jazz & Aperitivo w/ Shireen Francis

Join us at Macknade on Friday 3rd May for a very special Jazz and Aperitivo evening with Shireen Francis, a regular performer at Ronnie Scott's who will be performing selections from the Great American Songbook as well as her own material Afro-caribbean inspired material, accompanied by Gunther Kurmayr on the piano.


Starting at 7pm, you'll be welcomed with a drink on arrival and the opportunity to order from a menu of small plates created by the Macknade kitchen, while Shireen & Gunther take to the stage.


Tickets are £15 each and include a drink on arrival.

During her 30-year career, Shireen Francis has performed at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Shireen Francis is a warm and soulful performer who continually takes her audiences into a new dimension. 

 

Born in London of Jamaican and Goan Heritage, Shireen learned her craft in Afro-Caribbean music but in recent years her jazz singing inspired by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson has led her in a different direction including writing her own material.

On keyboard, Gunther Kurmayr is a sought-after accompanist on the London circuit, and has performed at all the major venues in the UK as well as Lincoln Centre, New York, and jazz festivals including Montreal and Umbria.
